Abstract
Drawing on Moroccan practice, this paper reviews marine insurance and focuses on how claims are handled and settled under hull and cargo policies. It outlines the main stages of adjustment (notification, expertise, valuation and settlement), and discusses recurring difficulties related to documentation, causation, and quantification of loss. The analysis highlights the interaction between local market practice and international standards, including reinsurance arrangements.
