Human Rights in Morocco: Facing Inequalities, Injustices, and Discriminations
Over the past two decades, Morocco has implemented significant legislative policies to strengthen equality and fight against injustices. The 2011 Constitution reaffirmed the country's commitment to combating all forms of discrimination based on gender, color, beliefs, culture, social or regional origin, language, disability, or health status. These provisions were reinforced by several international conventions ratified by Morocco.
Concretely, the Moroccan State has sought to address various forms of discrimination: gender (law against violence toward women), racial (law against hate incitement), physical (rights of persons with disabilities), political (Equity and Reconciliation Commission, constitutional reform), social (National Human Development Initiative, medical coverage), economic (anti-discrimination employment law), family (Family Code), and cultural or linguistic (recognition of Amazigh language and identity).
However, recent economic crises have led to growing inequalities and injustices. This project therefore aims to build a paradigm of social justice that strengthens human rights and promotes ethical and democratic values.
