Abstract
This article explores the historical and social origins of erosion in the Rif region of Morocco, focusing on the relationship between human activity and forest degradation. It examines how deforestation, land use practices, demographic pressures, and rural livelihoods contributed to environmental fragility. The study emphasizes the interaction between ecological processes and social behavior in explaining the development of erosion.
