Abstract
This article examines contractual balance and the doctrine of unforeseen circumstances (hardship), showing how exceptional and unpredictable events may disrupt the equilibrium of contractual obligations. It outlines the conditions for invoking hardship and discusses the main remedies—renegotiation, judicial adaptation, or termination—highlighting their impact on legal certainty and contractual justice.
