Abstract
The article analyzes consumer protection through recognition of the right to information regarding designations of origin. It considers Moroccan consumer protection legislation as a framework that addresses imbalance in professional–consumer contracting by ensuring informed consent. Focusing on origin labeling, the study explains how access to accurate information enables consumers to make free and enlightened choices and strengthens preventive protection before contract formation.
