Abstract
The article examines how the forfeiture or loss of patent protection affects consumer protection in the pharmaceutical field. It reviews the role of pharmaceutical patents as mechanisms that secure inventors’ rights while shaping access to medicines and market dynamics. By discussing the evolution of Morocco’s industrial property framework and the balance between public health considerations and private monopoly rights, the paper analyzes the legal consequences of patent termination on consumer interests and regulatory choices.
