Abstract
This article assesses Morocco's economic growth since independence. It first examines the colonial economic legacy, marked by the predominance of foreign capital, social inequalities, unemployment, and rural exodus. It then reviews the development plans and economic policy choices adopted from the 1960s onward, evaluating their impact on growth, structural transformation, and social progress. The article offers a critical appraisal of Morocco's development trajectory and discusses the prospects for future economic growth.
