Abstract

This article analyzes the obstacles to the growth of mechanical industries in Morocco, with particular attention to the automobile sector and to the role of the Integration-Compensation Law. It situates the difficulties of the sector within broader debates on industrialization, technology transfer, and the insertion of developing countries into international industrial and commercial flows. The article discusses structural constraints affecting Morocco's mechanical industries and examines whether integration-compensation mechanisms can promote local content, industrial upgrading, and sectoral development.
