Abstract
This article surveys the state of information technology in Morocco and situates it within broader debates on technological dependence and development. It asks whether developing countries can build their own capacities in computing or whether they remain dependent on imported technologies designed for different economic and social contexts. The article highlights the stakes of computerization for administration, economic management, security, and development strategy.
