Abstract

This article compares the characteristics of scientific and éducational research, highlighting their commonalities. Educational research is considered a branch of scientific research, but it is distinguished by its spécific subject matter, focus, and méthodology for addressing educational phénomena and issues. Educational situations are its central focus, whether they are asymmetrical or dynamic, in addition to the unique charactéristics of time, space, and historical context of each educational situation. The article also discussed other déterminants of éducational research, such as the intervention of unexpected éléments in the educational situation under study. This situation may bé governed by an infinité number of independent variables, or by dependent or interdépendent variables. Furthermore, it may be charactérized by a complex or multifaceted nature, whether pédagogical, spatial, temporal, social, or value-based. The article also examined the méthodology of educational research, which relies on understanding the nature of the problèm under study and identifying the relevant fields of knowledge. The study is then based on reliable scientific références, and data is collected systematically and accurately to obtain objective information. This data is then analyzed, the nécessary conclusions are drawn, and possible généralizations are made. Objectivity, accuracy, logical reasoning, vérification, expérimentations, probabilistic reasoning, réductionism, and publishability are all taken into considération.
