Abstract
In this article, Aini Betoucche -Akchiche seeks to carry out a semiotic analysis of one of Assia Djebar’s most important and best-known Algerian fictional texts, focusing on the application of the methodological approaches developed by J-C, Coquet in his famous book “La quête du sens”. The aim is to analyse the semiotic situation. For the eloquent self that Claude Coquet considered capable of formulating judgments, making them and controlling their emotions; the researcher noted that the texts of A. Djebar’s texts possess multiple writing characteristics characterized by a multiple self. Thus, the original case reflects other cases, opening the way for other women to assert themselves in the context of their double persecution. However, the verbal self reflects a bloody war between the patriarchal authority of father and brothers (as anti-subject)is dominated by death, with the existential dimension touching its state of origin in the passion of its love released in silence. The emphasis on emotional dynamism and introspection has contributed to the resurrection of a period that is not yet over, the present being described from a subjective and emotional point of view.
