Abstract

The interview with Jacques Fontanille, who participated in the founding of the semiotics of the École de Paris, focuseson the various developments in discursive semiotics, the semiotics of culture and pragmatic semiotics. It also highlights the many contributions of the semiotics of the Ecole de Paris to other sciences, its relationship to interdisciplinarity, the social sciences, especially communication and advertising. Also, its possible application in the field of basic education and the training of teachers to enable them to develop the competence of their students in reading and interpreting texts.
