Abstract

This article explores the novel genre through a spatial approach, arguing that novels require aesthetic foundations based on specific designs, imaginary characters, and symbolic spaces. Drawing on Heidegger’s architectural view of the novel, structural criticism (Genette), and Joseph Kisener’s spatial models, Farchoukh examines how these perspectives enhance the critical process and innovation within the context of postmodernism.
