Abstract
This article explores Abdallatif Al-Baghdadi’s journey to Egypt through the lens of semiotics, specifically the "semiotics of catastrophe." The researcher analyzes the famine and the resulting atrocities described in the text by applying concepts from catastrophe theory and Greimasian narrative semiotics. The study proposes a new methodological approach that examines how meaning is produced within the narrative text, moving from linguistic structures to broader semiotic interpretations
