Article Title
The metamorphic verb in Moroccan Arabic
Abstract
The term “metamorphic” verb may seem pretentious or too strong compared to other verbs, or other classes of verbs, that may claim the same denomination, which in this case is not restrictive. Indeed, the attribution of the qualification "metamorphic" is valid only to the extent that the verb expresses a change in the state of the reference to which it applies. In this respect, it is certain that many factual verbs are then metamorphic, so are verbs whose main reason is to express an action that intervenes on the subject. This is somewhat the case with internal deponent verbs, as is the case with some verbs used in the middle-passive.
