The syntax of weak rectors in classical Arabic, The case of thought verbs
Abstract
The weak rection is a syntactic behavior that characterizes verbs indicating a mental or psychological attitude towards the content of a proposition. These are verbs that do not have a real syntactical grip on the propositions they introduce. Hence the possibility of their moving without the main information of the sentence being affected. In this article, i will try to make an indicative reading of these verbs in classical Arabic and to expose the most salient syntactic properties.
