Abstract
The (tanwiin تنوين) in Arabic is a suffix added to the noun, after the case vowel. In this article, we will attempt to make some observations on the definition of the content and nature of tanwiin in the Arabic language and its classifications as mentioned by Arabic grammarians. We will also ask some questions about its linguistic status and its complementary distribution with the determinant (al ال) in the common name in Arabic.
