Abstract
Berber manuscripts written in Arabic characters are a field of scholarly interest since fifty years only. Where most public collections had only a few Berber manuscripts at their disposal, private collectors managed to build up important collections. Thanks to the ground breaking work of several berberologists, berber manuscripts developed during the last decennia, with obvious retardation, into an important theme of study.
