Abstract
Using conceptual metaphor theory, this study analyzes how the Qur’an mobilizes darkness and light to communicate abstract spiritual and moral meanings. It argues that figurative language is a cognitive mechanism mapping guidance and knowledge onto light and deviation and ignorance onto darkness, clarifying interpretive issues in sacred discourse.
