Abstract
This paper studies theatrical discourse through reception and reading, proposing a pragmatic approach to dramatic dialogue. It argues that meaning emerges through interaction among text, performance cues, and audience inference, and shows how speech acts and implicature guide interpretation in theatrical communication.
