Abstract
This article reflects on the notion of poetic narrative and on the relationship between prosaic language and poetic language in modern literary discourse. It questions the conventional separation between narrative and poetry and argues that poetic narrative is not simply a novel decorated with poetic effects, but a form in which narrative structure, symbolic language, and poetic procedures interact organically. Drawing in particular on Abdelkebir Khatibi’s Amour bilingue, the article examines how poeticity operates at macrostructural and microstructural levels through fragmentation, the destabilization of linear narration, shifts in voice, and the tension between identity and alterity. It presents poetic narrative as a hybrid literary form that challenges established genre boundaries.
